Warp is based in g39 on Oxford Street, Cardiff and aims to provide professional development resources and services for artists. The resource room serves as a drop-in centre for any artists wishing to take advantage of the specific resources we offer towards the administration of an art practice. There’s a flatbed scanner, a Mac workstation with Final Cut Pro and other useful software and you can use our printer.
The Library is has shelves dedicated to publications and periodicals across a number of categories including Artist Books, Architecture, Catalogues, Audio Visual, Public Art and Monographs. The publication titles are browse-able online via the Library page but you can also come in to use the Library as a quiet place for reading, writing and research.
We run an ongoing programme of peer-to-peer and one-to-one sessions giving artists the opportunity to talk about their practice with gallery staff, and a series of seminars and artist talks gives you a chance to hear first-hand about different modes of contemporary practice. You can also pop in for a chat or drop us line to ask about Mentoring and guidance.
We’re open 11am – 5pm Wednesday – Saturday so if you want to take advantage of any of the available resources get in touch.
We welcome participation from people irrespective of disability, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, family responsibility, age, race, ethnic origin, nationality (subject to issue of work permit where required), trade union membership and activity, political or religious beliefs.
