Waunceirch Primary School, Dwr y Felin Road, Neath, SA10 7RW

Fee: £4,000
Project Duration: Hydref 2018 – Mai 2019
Application Deadline: 16 Medi 2018

For a third year Addo is working as a Creative Agent for the Arts Council of Wales’ Lead Creative School Scheme and is calling for applications  from Creative Practitioners for a project at Waunceirch Primary School. We’re inviting applications from Creative Practitioners (individuals / partnerships / studios / organisations) to work with a group of up to 28 Year 3 pupils (girls and boys, aged 7-8) to develop their Digital Competency Skills (in line with the Digital Competence Framework ) and explore ways of using the various roles involved in filmmaking to progress pupils’ engagement and listening skills, with a focus on literacy.

The project will be informed by pupil responses to a planned school trip to St Fagans National Museum of History in January 2019 and reflections on the historical and contemporary locale of the school. At this stage the brief is relatively open to allow for Creative Practitioners to work collaboratively with two Year 3 Teachers and their learners to develop the project and its outcomes in more detail.

The appointed Creative Practitioner(s) will work with the teachers and pupils to develop and deliver the detailed project structure, content and outcomes, as well as creative ways to document and evaluate the project and celebrate achievements.

The participating teachers are interested in developing new digital skills and sharing their learning across the school. It is expected that the Creative Practitioner will support this process by sharing knowledge and providing skills training for teachers as part of the project.

We welcome applications from Creative Practitioner(s) (including individuals, partnerships, teams, organisations or studios) with expertise in filmmaking, a commitment to developing excellence in creative practice, and an engaging and inspiring aptitude to working with others.

The full brief and details of how to apply may be downloaded here.

Addo has been appointed as Creative Agents for this project, which is part of the Lead Creative Schools Scheme funded by Welsh Government and Arts Council of Wales.
