Connect/Exchange

Exchange/Research/Networking residencies for UK-based artists with a screen-based practice, taking place nationwide.

Led by Northern Film & Media in collaboration with Chapter (Cardiff)Metal (Liverpool)BALTIC The NewBridge Project (NewcastleGateshead), and Stills (Edinburgh), the scheme enables artists to undertake initial research & development of a new work or project.

About the Residency

Northern Film & Media are looking for ambitious and out-going early and mid-career artists who are open to testing out and sharing new ideas, who have a new project they want to undertake initial research & development for, and who will benefit from the support and networking opportunities Connect/Exchange offers. Artists are supported via a two-part residency, together with associated professional networking events.

There are spaces for eight artists on the scheme – three artists based in the North East, one artist based in Scotland, one artist based in Wales and three artists based nationally. These will take place at our host partners Metal (Liverpool), Stills (Edinburgh), Chapter (Cardiff) and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art + The NewBridge Project (NewcastleGateshead).
